A provincial adviser has been working with the Village of Sayward to resolve ongoing friction at municipal meetings.
The village council in the community of about 350 residents between Campbell River and Port McNeill on the east side of Vancouver Island voted unanimously in March to ask for help
The adviser has spent two days in the community so far, Mayor Mark Baker said Thursday.
He will be attending meetings and putting together a comprehensive report with recommendations, which Baker estimates will be completed in about three months.
The adviser will be “helping us out with governance and rules and that type of thing — giving us advice.”
